Privacy
What this site collects, what the desk does with it, where it is kept, and how to have it read back or removed. Written plainly, because that is how a consent form should read too.
We collect only what you type into this site — the free review form, the seasonal offer, the route-notice subscription and the live chat — and we use it for one purpose: to read your file, reply to you and, if you ask, quote the work. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with Capella University or its Institutional Review Board. Write to hello@capellairb.com and we will read back or remove what we hold about you.
What we collect, and where it comes from
- The free application review form (on the contact page and the home page): your name if you give it, your email, your phone, the stage your project is at, and the note you write. The form also carries a hidden field that only automated scripts fill in; if it is filled, the submission is discarded.
- The seasonal offer: your name if you give it, your email and your phone, and the month you claimed it in.
- The route notice (the newsletter, here and in the footer): your email address only.
- The live chat: the messages you type, the page you were on, and a session reference kept in your browser for the length of your visit so the conversation can continue across pages.
- Email you send to the desk, and anything you attach to it.
Every submission also records which page of this site it came from, so the consultant reading it knows the context. We do not collect anything you did not type or send.
What we use it for
- To read where your project stands and write back with what the file needs — the free review.
- To quote a package in writing if you ask for one, and to carry the work if you say go.
- To send the route notice if you subscribed: one email when something on Capella's IRB route changes, and nothing else.
- To keep the record of a file we are carrying — the documents, the correspondence with the board, the versions — for as long as we are carrying it.
We do not use what you send for advertising, we do not build profiles, and we do not contact you about anything other than your file and, if you subscribed, the route notice.
Where it is kept
Submissions from the forms and the chat go to the practice's own desk system, hosted for us by a service provider under contract, and are read there by the consultants on the desk. Files we carry are kept in the same system and in the working documents the consultants draft. We do not claim certification under any particular framework; we do keep access limited to the people working on your file, and we remove what you ask us to remove.
Who never sees it
Capella University, its Institutional Review Board, its faculty and its staff. This practice is independent of the university; nothing you send us reaches the school unless it is in a file you ask us to submit on your behalf, in which case it reaches the board as your application and nothing more. We do not sell, rent or trade anything you give us, to anyone, ever.
Cookies, storage and third parties
This site sets no tracking cookies and loads no advertising or analytics scripts. Three small things are kept in your browser's session storage, for your visit only: whether the seasonal offer has already been shown, whether the chat nudge has already appeared, and the chat session reference. They are cleared when you close the browser. The site's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from Google's servers when a page loads; Google's own privacy terms govern that request. No other third party is involved in rendering these pages.
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold about you, and we will read it back.
- Ask us to correct it, and we will.
- Ask us to remove it, and we will, unless we are mid-way through carrying a file for you — in which case we will finish or stop, as you prefer, and then remove it.
- Reply to any route-notice email with "stop", or write to us, and it stops.
All of these go to hello@capellairb.com, and a person answers.
Changes to this page
If what we collect or how we use it changes, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. Subscribers to the route notice are told when the change is material.
