A site about reading files carefully should itself be readable by everyone who needs it. This page says how capellairb.com is built toward that, where it still falls short, and how to tell us.
Every word of this site lives in plain HTML, readable without scripts, styles or images. Drawings carry text alternatives, every widget can be operated from the keyboard, tap targets are at least 44 pixels, inputs are at least 16 pixels, and the type is set at a generous size and leading on a paper ground with ink-dark text. We do not claim conformance to a particular standard; we fix what is reported. Barriers go to hello@capellairb.com.
How the site is built
- Static, readable HTML. No page depends on a script to show its content. The widgets — the route map, the determination, the live chat, the forms — are enhancements on top of readable markup.
- Headings in order. One level-one heading per page, sections under level-two headings, so a screen reader's heading list is a table of contents.
- Text for every drawing. The drawn route carries a spoken description and is followed by a table that says the same thing in words; the star marks on testimonials carry their rating as text; the consultants' drawn portraits are labelled by name.
- Keyboard operation. The gates on the route map, the determination's buttons, the menu, the seasonal sheet, the chat and every form can be reached and operated with the keyboard; focus is visible; the seasonal sheet and the chat close on Escape and return focus to where it was.
- Targets and type. Links in lists and buttons are at least 44 pixels tall; form inputs are at least 16 pixels so phones do not zoom; body text is set at 17 to 18 pixels with generous leading on a 70-character measure.
- Contrast. Ink-dark text on a pale paper ground, with the crimson and butter accents used for emphasis rather than for meaning alone.
- No motion that cannot be stopped, no autoplaying media, no content that flashes.
- Mobile first. Nothing overflows the screen at narrow widths; wide drawings and tables scroll inside their own container.
Known limits
- The live chat needs scripts to run. Without them, the same consultants can be reached at hello@capellairb.com and through the free review form, which also works without scripts where a browser submits it natively.
- The determination on the home page is an interactive reading; the questions it asks and the readings it gives are described in words on the FAQ and how it works pages.
- The seasonal sheet appears once per visit after a pause; it can be dismissed with Escape, the close control or a click outside it, and it never reappears in the same visit.
- The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts; if they fail to load, the site falls back to the system's own serif and sans-serif faces and everything remains readable.
